We knew this awful day would come,
We’ve got to say goodbye,
It’s the hardest time of all our lives,
There’s great sadness in our eyes.
 
You simply were a lovely mum,
 We couldn’t have asked for more,
Life wasn’t always easy for you,
But you rose above it all.
 
We’re really very lucky that you were here for us,
And even when you neared the end,
You never made a fuss.
 
You loved a simple life our mum,
Nothing too fancy or dear,
A trip to the local garden centre,
Would give you a lot of cheer
 
In your house that was made of wood,
You lived as a mum and wife,

 
You loved it out there living in the woods,
Watching children and grandchildren play,
You like to sit and watch the birds and feed them every day.
 
Life certainly is now going to change,
Without you here by our side,
But now you’re free to spread your wings,
In the sky above and glide.
 
Goodbye to you our precious mum,
Until we meet again,
We love you truly with all our hearts,
Life will never be the same.
